Ernesto Yattah

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Rabbi Ernesto Yattah completed his undergraduate studies at Columbia University in New York City, earning a BA in Comparative Religions in 1987. He furthered his education at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (JTSA), obtaining another BA in Bible, an MA in Judaic Studies and being ordained as a rabbi in 1989.
Following his ordination, Rabbi Yattah served as Assistant and Associate Rabbi at Congregation Beth Yeshurun in Houston, TX. Upon returning to Argentina, he became actively involved in various interreligious dialogue initiatives in Buenos Aires. He served as the Rabbi of Comunidad Chalom, a Sephardic synagogue, between 2002 and 2010.
Currently Rabbi Ernesto Yattah holds the position of Dean at the Abraham Joshua Heschel Rabbinical School and Vice- Rector of the Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano Marshall T. Meyer. He also founded and has been leading the Latin American Center for the Dialogue and Encounter between Judaism and Islam (CELAJI) of the Seminario.
Beyond his Rabbinic work, Ernesto Yattah has the mission of bringing to light the life and legacy of his late brother, Mauricio Jorge Yattah (1949-2021), embodied in work of the One World One People Foundation.
